Elastbiz · Tables — the wedge

Tables — the substrate teaches itself.

Tables is the wedge product of Elastbiz. Buy it once and every partition type in your Elastbiz substrate gains semantic governance: type-aware credentials, AI workers with per-type tokens, row-level audit, business logic, view affordances, automation triggers. Invoices behave like invoices. Projects behave like projects. Inventory behaves like inventory.

02 · Why Tables

Airtable makes tables. Monday makes boards. Neither teaches your data what it means.

The problem

Generic rows in a generic bag.

Every spreadsheet-as-database tool treats your Invoice, Customer, Project, Ticket the same way — as anonymous rows in an anonymous table. The type is a folder name, nothing more. Business logic lives in your head, not the platform. Every automation, every access rule, every AI query has to re-teach the system what an Invoice actually is.

The solution

Types the platform understands.

Tables ships six built-in partition types the platform actually knows: Customer, Project, Invoice, Contact, Deal, Task. Each carries its own semantics — column ACLs, AI-worker tokens scoped to the type, activity log, automation triggers. Add your own via AI-assist and the substrate learns them. Every other Elastbiz app inherits that type knowledge for free.

03 · What's inside

Feature depth, not surface area.

Tables ships the primitives that mainstream Work-OS tools bolt on with integrations — typed columns, formulas, row-level audit, granular ACLs, an automation engine, and native MCP endpoints so AI agents can CRUD rows without a plugin marketplace.

6 built-in partition types

Customer, Project, Invoice, Contact, Deal, Task — each with its own semantics. Add user-defined types via AI-assist; the substrate persists them alongside the built-ins.

5 view types

Main Table, Kanban, Calendar, Timeline, Form. Switch views per partition without exporting or re-modeling.

Automation engine

Full nested AND/OR/IF logic, 12 triggers, 12 actions. Rules run in the substrate, not a sidecar — so they see the same partition types your columns do.

Per-row subtables

Every row can carry its own subtable — arbitrary depth. Not "sub-items with one level" — a true nested partition per row, with independent schemas.

Formula engine

25+ functions, same-row and cross-row evaluation. Rollups over subtables and relations built into the parser (live eval enabling by-partition, in stages).

Master-detail split view

A purpose-built rows + subtable split — the one view where per-row subtables shine. Absent in Monday, awkward in Airtable, native here.

Public Forms

Any partition can front a public form. Row-level ACL by column — collect from the outside, gate what agents/humans see downstream.

Native MCP row CRUD

AI agents call list_rows, create_row, update_row, get_row as first-class MCP tools. No plugin, no shim, no vector-DB sidecar.

Activity log on every row

Every write is logged with actor, timestamp, and diff. Search backwards in time; feed the log to AI workers for context.
